Steps Toward Healing
The steps toward healing are different for everyone. However, if you look at healing as a whole there are stages of healing. Working with these stages can not only be an indicator to where you are in your healing, but it can also assist in gaining the awareness of what steps would be beneficial.
The first stage of healing is awareness. Awareness is the recognition, meaning recognizing a difficulty, how you empower the difficulty, and recognizing what changes are needed to create the change you want to see. Awareness is working in the present to recognize energies you carry. Awareness is working with the past to see how issues were created and how they have evolved. Awareness is also envisioning the future and designing what you want to create. Awareness is the ability to see all parts of what you wish to change.
With the knowledge of all parts of what you wish to change comes choice, and with choice comes the second stage of healing, commitment. Commitment is dedication, being dedicated to creating change even when it is not popular, comfortable, or convenient. If you find yourself having difficulties in committing to heal something, one of two things is occurring. Either there is something you are not aware of that is causing resistance to commitment, or you have the awareness but do not want to heal. If you feel you have missed something, review your awareness to see if there is anything that you have missed. If you do not want to heal, do not judge yourself for this, simply don’t expect change.
The level of one’s commitment always shows through the level of one’s action. Actions carry the power to change realities. Action is putting your awareness and your commitment to work, to create the change you wish to see. If one does not take proper action that supports their awareness and commitment, then those actions will not support their healing. If you find your actions not supporting your healing, review your awareness and your level of commitment. Perhaps there is something you missed.
The last step is patience. When one wants to create change patience is required. Many times people will work to change something; even begin creating the change they want to see, and then lose patience with themselves. Patience is not waiting for something to happen, although many are taught this. Patience is building power slowly. Continually supporting the change you want to see with your actions, which are based on your awareness and your commitment.
